How does work APC Smart-UPS 5000VA Rack/Tower - 5U - SUA5000RMI5U? Shop at MIATLANTIC EU
Schneider Electric's Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) APC Smart-UPS protects electronic equipment from power outages, brownouts, voltage sags, and surges. The UPS filters small fluctuations in the auxiliary line and disconnects the power from large interruptions by disconnecting within the state power line. The UPS delivers continuous power from the internal battery until the operating power revenues to a safe level or the battery is tired.
Electrical Safety
Do not hold any metal connectors until the power is off. To
find models with hardwired inputs, a connection to the branch circuit (mains)
must be made by a qualified electrician. Only 230 V models: To comply with the
EMC Directive for products sold in Europe, the length of the output cable
connected to the UPS must not exceed 10 meters. The UPS ground protector
carries the leaking power on the loading machines (computer equipment). A
closed ground conductor will be installed as part of the UPS branch circuit.
Conductors should have the same size and differentiation as
power conductors for a grounded and unstructured branch circuit. The conductors
are usually green with yellow or non-yellow stripes. The current leak of the related
UPS may exceed 3.5 mA if you use a different ground terminal. The UPS input
ground conductor must be properly connected to the protected area on the
service panel. If the input power of the UPS is supplied by a separately
derived system, the local conductor must be properly connected to the supply
transformer or motor-generator set.
Hardware Security:
Check the state and local laws before installing cables.
Before plugging in or making connections (either in the junction boxes or the
UPS), check that all branch circuits (mains) and the lower (control) circuits
are re-enabled and locked out. Cables are required for a qualified electrician.
All solid ropes (supplied with specific products) require weight relief. Free
snap-in is recommended. All spaces permitting access to UPS hardwire stations
must be covered. Failure to do so may result in personal injury or mechanical
damage. Select cable and connector sizes following national and local laws
Battery Safety:
Batteries usually last two to five years. Environmental
factors may affect battery life. High ambient temperatures, low-quality power
consumption, and short-term standard discharge may reduce battery life.
Batteries must be replaced before running out of batteries. If the device
indicates that the battery needs to be replaced, replace the battery
immediately. When replacing batteries, replace them with the same number of
batteries that were originally installed in the device. Schneider Electric APCs
use sealed lead-acid batteries that can be repaired. Under normal use and
management, the internal components of the battery are inaccessible.
Overcharging, overheating, or other battery abuse may result in the loss of the
battery electrolyte. The released electrolyte is toxic and may be harmful to
the skin and eyes.
NOTE: Earlier installing or replacing batteries, remove
jewelry such as cables, watches, and rings. Use tools with closed handles. High
short-circuit currents using active materials can cause high temperatures.
General information
• UPS will detect up to 10 external battery packs connected
to the UPS.
• The model number and serial number are found on the small
label on the back panel. In some models, additional labels are found on the
chassis below the front bezel.
• Always reuse used batteries.
• Reuse packaging or store it for reuse.
End of life:
At the end of its useful life, more than 1500 products in
Smart-UPS® have been upgraded to reduce the amount of waste and allow for the
recycling of product components and building materials. This product list
contains batteries, external cables, and electronic boards, which must be
separated from the stream to improve end-of-life disposal by special handling.
The location of these components and other recommendations is provided in the
end-of-life documents applicable to the product family.
Product reusability is tested using the "ECO'DEEE
Recyclability and Recyclability Calculation Method" (version V1, submitted
to French Environment and Energy Agency: ADEME dated 20 September 2008). In
this way, the probability of gain is 65%. As stated in the recycling method,
this measure only includes metals and plastics from proven industrial recycling
processes.
