The HP 1950 Switch Series consists of intelligent, web-managed Gigabit Ethernet switches with 10GbE uplinks for advanced small business customers who require high-performance connectivity to servers and network storage. The 1950 switch series includes four switches: two normal models and two PoE+ models, in 24- and 48-port shapes. Each switch has two 10GBASE-T ports backup copper-based Category 6A wiring, and two 10G SFP+ ports for fiber connectivity. All PoE+ replicas have a PoE power budget of 370 W to power PoE/PoE+ acquiescent client devices.

The 1950 Switch Series features an intuitive web-based interface for easy customization of network operations. It supports true stacking, allowing up to four devices to be logically managed as a single entity, enabling greater network redundancy while simplifying management. Models support rack mount and desktop operation. These changes have IPv4 and IPv6 operation with Layer 2 switching and Layer 3 static direction-finding.

Other features include:

Link aggregation for improved link performance; VLANs, access control lists, and 802.1X network logging for improved security; and three versions of Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) for augmented network resiliency. Network Time Protocol (NTP):

Connect the new out-of-the-box switch to a network with a DHCP server, and the device will automatically obtain its IP address through the plug-and-play operation. In the absenteeism of a DHCP server, the switch will fall back to a unique static address determined by the switch's MAC speech.

Quality of Service (QoS):

·         Rate Limit set the maximum per-port ingress enforced and per-port, per-queue minimum

·         Traffic prioritization can prioritize important and/or time-sensitive traffic over less important traffic. Use VoIP or video to optimize its performance on the web. Identify IEEE 802.1p and DSCP priority markings. Packs are mapped to four hardware queues for a more efficient amount.

 

Safety:

·         Access Control Lists (ACLs) provide fine-grained control over where traffic flows on the network. Allow traffic filtering. ACL rules can be founded on MAC addresses or IP addresses. ACL rules can enforce access control for certain hours or days based on time

·         IEEE 802.1X and RADIUS network login controls port-based access for authentication and accountability

·         Automatic VLAN assignment automatically assigns users to the appropriate VLAN based on their identity, location, and time of day

·         STP BPDU port Guard blocks Bridged Protocol Data Units (BPDUs) on ports that do not require BPDUs, preventing forged BPDU attacks

·         STP root guard protects the root bridge from malicious attacks or misconfigurations

·         Automatic denial of service protection protects the network by blocking malicious DoS attacks against the switch itself
