The 3810 provides resiliency and scalability through innovative backplane stacking technology and redundant hot-swappable power supplies, all in a convenient 1U form factor. It supports advanced Layer 2 and Layer 3 feature sets with OSPF, IPv6, IPv4 BGP, dynamic segmentation, robust QoS, and policy-based routing without software licensing. Easy to deploy, use and manage with Aruba Airwave or Aruba Central. Aruba Clear Pass provides consolidated safety and external captive portal provision. These switches come with a limited lifetime warranty.

Unified wired and wireless support:

Aruba Clear Pass Policy Manager provides analysis, authentication, and policy management across multi-vendor wired and wireless networks. When an Aruba access point is detected, switch auto-configuration automatically configures the switch with different settings such as VLAN, CoS, PoE max power, and PoE priority. User roles define a set of switch-based rules in areas such as security, verification, and QoS. User roles can be assigned to a group of users or devices using switch-based local user roles or downloaded from Clear Pass. Dynamic segmentation provides a secure tunnel for per-port or per-user role-based network traffic to Aruba controllers. In a per-user role tunnel node, users are authenticated by a Clear Pass policy manager, which tunnels traffic to an Aruba controller or local switch. Static IP discernibility allows Clear Pass to bill clients with static IP speeches.

Quality of Service (QoS):

Advanced Classifier-Based QoS Classifies traffic using multiple matching criteria based on Layer 2, 3, and 4 information; applies QoS policies, such as prioritizing and rate-limiting selected traffic per port or VLAN. Layer 4 priority based on TCP/UDP port number. Class of Service (CoS) Sets IEEE 802.1p priority marking based on IP address, IP Type of Service (ToS), Layer 3 protocol, TCP/UDP port number, source port, and DiffServ.

Connectivity:

Jumbo frames on Gigabit Ethernet and 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports enable high-performance remote backup and disaster recovery services. IEEE 802.3at Power over Ethernet (PoE+) provides up to 30 W per port, supporting the latest PoE+ enabled devices such as IP phones, wireless access points, and security cameras, as well as any IEEE 802.3af compliant endpoint equipment; eliminates additional cable and circuit costs for IP telephony and WLAN deployments. Supports quasi-standard PoE detection and powers quasi-standard PoE devices. SFP+ uplink replicas offer fiber-optic (up to 70 km) or direct attach cable (DAC) networks.

Performance and Efficiency:

Selectable queue configuration improves performance by choosing the number of queues and associated memory buffers that best meet the requirements of the network application. Energy Efficient Design - 80 PLUS Silver Certified Power Supplies improve power efficiency and save Energy Efficiency Ethernet (EEE) support reduces IEEE 802.3az compliant power consumption. Mesh Stacking Technology - High-performance stacking provides up to 336 Gbps stacking throughput; each 4-port stacking module supports up to 42 Gbps in each direction per stacking port Ring, chain, and mesh topologies support up to 10 1-member ring or chain and 5-member full mesh stack; mesh topology provides greater resiliency than standard rings - virtualized switching provides simplified management as switches appear as a single chassis when stacked. Aruba Provision ASICs provide very low latency, increased packet buffering, and adaptive power consumption.
